GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Reflections.  As we celebrate the Christmas season and anticipate Christ’s return, we encourage you to look back on the past year and see how God has blessed you.  Too often we take for granted so many of our blessings.  While as a church we feel blessed with our new pastor, we have found that tithing has been less than anticipated.  We have been operating with a deficit for many months and ask that you consider how God can use you to be a blessing to Westend before the end of the year.

Children’s Ministry Position:  Westend CRC is hiring a Children’s Ministry Coordinator to oversee a comprehensive ministry to children from birth to 6th grade.  Details about this part-time position and the application process are available at westendcrc.org.

Pictorial Directory.  If you had your picture taken for the directory, you’ll find your copy of the directory in your church mailbox.

Parents of Sunday School children:  today is our dress rehearsal for the Christmas program.  Please have your children report to their classrooms promptly after church.  Next Sunday, please bring them to the Sunday School rooms at 9:15 AM so they can be costumed.

It’s not too late to join the Westend choir as we prepare for the Christmas season!  Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons at 4 in the Sanctuary.

Christmas Cards for Shut-ins.  If you would like to remember our shut-ins with Christmas cards, please place your cards in the beautiful bags created by our GEMS.  These will be delivered to shut-ins by our deacons.  Please bring your cards today!

Today is the last day to give a gift for the Other Way Christmas Store.  Gifts will be brought to The Other Way, and can be purchased by parents in the community.

Have you been financially blessed this year? Would you consider a special gift to be shared with people of our church family who haven’t been so fortunate?  Today is the last day you may place donations in the offering plate.  Please write Christmas Blessings on your donation.

Teachers are needed for Friendship Club, especially with winter coming, and some of our teachers headed south.  Would you be willing to spend and hour and a half twice a month with some fabulous friends?  No talent needed, just willingness to have fun.  Contact Leslie.

Would you consider a special gift to be shared as a Christmas Blessing with people of our church family who haven’t been so fortunate?  You may place donations in the offering plate or drop them off at the church office any time up to December 8.  Please write Christmas Blessings on your donation.  Thank you.

Seniors are invited to a Christmas luncheon in our Fellowship Center on Thursday, December 19.  It will begin at 11:45 and a wonderful program will follow.  Reservations must be made by December 12.  Call Cliff or Huddy or see them in church to make a reservation.
