THANK YOU

Thank you, Westend family and friends! I am so grateful for your prayer support, cards and letters. I am beginning to feel much better, eating more and feeling stronger. God is good all the time! ~ Ken Blake

We would like to thank everyone for the prayers and support for our granddaughter. Norah is home and doing great. We felt the prayers during this difficult time and feel blessed being part of Westend. ~ Floyd & Nancy Veenstra

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

If you have names to recommend to the Search Committee, please use the forms on the table next to the kitchen. The names can be placed in the blue box on the table. As was mentioned in the update in your mailboxes in February, we will accept names through this Sunday, March 5. We ask for your continued prayers as we begin to review the names submitted to the committee.

There will be no Café this Wednesday.

Search Committee will meet Thursday night at 7 PM.

Daylight Saving Time begins next weekend. Please remember to set your clocks ahead.

Next Sunday, Brian will lead a different style youth group meeting and would love to have other members of Westend join in. This will be a discussion-style lesson on John the Baptist, and we hope to have adults and teens share stories of joys and struggles in following Jesus. This should be a fun and unique way to hear students share about their faith, and a good chance for teens and adults to share. Please come March 12 from 6-8 PM for food, fellowship and a fun way to invest in our students.

The pigs are back! Order your delicious Pigs in Blankets from the Christian Education committee. The order form is in your mailbox, and you know how good they are.

Reminder: Call the prayer line (453.2288) if you have a prayer request. Intercessors are checking it around the clock so you can be assured that someone will be praying for your need.

Book club will meet March 16 to discuss My Name is Mahtob, by Mahtob Mahmoody.

The Church Retreat is coming! The Dates are May 19-21. Art SurPrize will again be at the retreat, so start your art entries now. We want to see all kinds of artwork!

THANK YOU

I want to thank all those who donated to our Envelope Fundraiser. It was overwhelming to see how many people donated so generously and so many who gave above and beyond the amount on the envelope. Nearly $7,000 was raised, which will cover the building expenses at the 5 houses we will build in Guatemala. Special thanks to the Sunday School kids who decorated the envelopes. It’s wonderful to have the support and encouragement of our entire church family. ~ Brian
