TODAY

This morning Pastor Kory continues the sermon series Dear Westend with the message An Expected Unexpected Left Turn, from Romans 8.

Our opportunities for giving will be for the Ministries Fund and Faith Promise.

NEXT SUNDAY

Next Sunday Dan Smith from Paradise Bound will be our guest preacher.

Our opportunities for giving will be for the Ministries Fund and Christian Education.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please be in prayer for Chuck Tumbling and his family.  Chuck had surgery on Friday to have his foot amputated due to complications of prior surgeries and diabetes.

Harold Rodenhouse went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening.  The family has already had a private ceremony at the graveside, but is planning a Memorial Service for Hal’s extended family, church family, and friends on Saturday, November 25, 11:00 AM at Westend. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the Service of Celebration and lite lunch thereafter.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Who greeted you this morning? Your care group 3 greeters were Ken and Mary Jane Timmer.

Today is your last day to order pigs! Those delicious pigs-in-blankets are being sold by the Christian Ed committee. Order forms and details are on the desk by the kitchen.

The women’s book club meets this Thursday at 7 PM and discusses the book Jimmy Bluefeather, by Kim Heacox.

Have you started packing your shoebox gift? We ask families of children from 3s & 4s through grade 5 (or anyone else) to put together a shoebox gift, and bring it to church by November 12. Go to samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ for details or grab a flyer from the back of church.

Our first Feeding America truck is scheduled for November 15 and we will begin handing out food at 4 PM. Are you willing to help set up, sort, and hand out food, or help families carry food to their cars, or just talk with them? A sign up sheet is in the back of church. Please arrive at 3:30 for instructions. If you’d like to help but have small children, please talk to Jim or Sue. We hope to have childcare during this time.

If you are hurting from separation or divorce and anxious about the challenges the holiday season brings, there is hope. Find out how to get through the holidays. Surviving the Holidays will be held at Westend on Saturday, November 18, 10 AM – noon. For more information, contact the Stapleys at dstapley5@sbcglobal.net.

Winter hats and gloves/mittens are needed for our Kids Hope kids. If you are willing to donate some, please place them in the box in the fellowship center by December 3.

Seniors, mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 12. You will be treated to a catered luncheon, followed by Christmas music performed by a gifted musician who plays the marimba like you’ve never heard before. Sign up in the fellowship center or call Renz by December 4.

Advance Notice: The study of Revelation, led by Dr Dan Kroeze, will meet for the last time of 2017 next Sunday. However, the learning continues in 2018 on January 7 and 21, February 4 and 18, March 18, and April 8 and 22.
