TODAY

Today Pastor Kory continues the Advent sermon series. The message, Waiting with Bated Breath, is from Isaiah 35.

CHRISTMAS DAY

Come tomorrow morning at 9:45 as we joyfully celebrate our Savior’s birth. Pastor Kory will conclude the series on waiting with When the Wait is Over.

Children from preschool to 2nd grade will be dismissed during the service for a Christmas activity in the Café.

The offering will be for New City Kids.

NEXT SUNDAY

Next Sunday Pastor Kory begins a new sermon series Now What? with the message Grateful.

Our opportunities for giving will be for the Ministries Fund and Other Way Ministries.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Bette Bomhof continues to receive Hospice care and is declining.

Pete Teitsma is now at Stonebridge Manor receiving Hospice Care.

Chuck Tumbling remains at St Mary’s Hospital.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Needed – a 2nd semester catechism teacher for the 6th – 8th graders. Classes begin in January. Please see Bethany Hoekzema.

Volunteer opportunity. Do you enjoy coffee and cookies after church? Two people are needed to help prepare and serve coffee, juice, and cookies after church just once a month. Contact Jamison Worst or Tom Byle.

Did you miss the community dinner December 13? We all did, thanks to the Michigan weather, but that won’t keep our youth group down! Keep January 17 open in your schedule so you can come for a re-do of the youth-sponsored (post)Christmas ham dinner!

A sign up sheet is out for anyone willing to help at future Community Dinners. The January dates are 3, 17 (youth group for that one) and 31.

Our first Feeding America truck of the new year is coming January 17. Please sign up to help if you can. There are also envelopes by the sign up sheet for any who wish to contribute toward the Feeding America truck.

THANK YOU

Thank you so much for the wonderful response for jewelry for MCFS. The ladies there were thrilled with the beautiful items. Thanks to DeVries Jewelry for donating and replacing all the watch batteries, and to Ray Breen for making necklace display boards. The MCFS bazaar profit was over $8,000! God is so good!  ~ Mar Hoekzema

Thank you to everyone for your beautiful cards and lovely poinsettia. I appreciate that you remembered me again this year. Also, thanks to the GEMS for the special work to make the bag so pretty. ~ Mary Koets

I want to thank you all for the beautiful Christmas cards and the lovely poinsettia. It took me hours to read all the cards!  ~ Phyllis Lehrke

To my Westend family, thank you for sharing your holiday joy with me by sending so many cards and notes. You brightened my days by filling my mailbox! I pray that you will have a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year! ~ Eileen Stehouwer

It was special to receive the many lovely Christmas greetings and gifts, presented in a beautifully decorated gift bag. Thank you. I was surprised seeing my name on the shut-in list, but most appreciative. My vision and lung condition remain stable for which I give thanks. Thanks too for the poinsettia, as well as Bob and Backy Katsma’s visit. I have missed worshiping with you and am so thankful that God has sent a shepherd to lead you. Blessings, with Christian love to all of you. ~ Alida Terpstra

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers for our granddaughter Norah. She is doing well and is home.  ~ Floyd & Nancy Veenstra
