Our guest preacher this morning is Seminarian Andrea Bult. During the service Brooke Christians will make her public profession of faith, and Madalyn Esme Crow, daughter of Ashleigh and Royce, will be baptized.

NEXT SUNDAY

Our opportunities for giving will be for the Ministries Fund and the Gideons.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Tryson Smallegan remains hospitalized until his infection is completely gone and his shunt can be reinserted. If you want to bring a meal, you can sign up on the Meal Train page: www.mealtrain.com/trains/6grrmz

Chuck Tumbling has surgery tomorrow for colon cancer, with possible follow up treatment as necessary.

Congratulations to Lois Kuiper and Dick Heys who were united in marriage on Friday. We wish them God’s blessing on their new home.

This week five of our GEMS counselors (Sheri Bustraan, Jen Byle, Deb Kok, Ruth Meringa, and Jane VandePol) will be driving to Dordt College for the GEMS conference. Please pray for their safety and inspiration this week.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Everyone is invited to join the prayer group, which meets in the Café every Sunday morning at 9:15. Gather with us to give thanks to God, to pray for the service and the needs of our church, and any other concerns.

Our Search Committee continues to meet on Thursday evenings. Please pray for the committee and check your email on Thursdays for specific prayer requests.

On August 6, the Guatemala group will share stories and lunch after the worship service. Come to the fellowship center at 11:30 for sandwiches, fruit, and ice cream, followed by pictures from the mission trip.

A copy of your directory entry was in your mailbox. Is everything complete and correct? If so, please initial it and place it in the Secretary mailbox (located before the letter A). If not, please make the corrections and/or additions on the sheet and return it to the Secretary mailbox.

Back to school already? On Saturday, August 26, we will hold our backpack festival from 11 AM to 1 PM. Many volunteers will be needed and sign up sheets will be out in August. Many school supplies are also needed and appreciated – backpacks, paper, pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks and scissors. There have already been some back-to-school sales! Thank you for any donations!

Our prayer line (453-2288) is available to take your prayer requests. Just leave your request after the recorded message. Intercessors will monitor messages day and night and pray for you at any time.
