Children experience God in unique and special ways. Westend seeks to help children in their walk with the Lord through a variety of activities and opportunities tailored to their interests and age.
Nursery is available during the Sunday worship service. Preschoolers aged 3-5 start the morning worship with their families and are dismissed to their class partway through the service. Bible school classes for students grades K-12 meet after the morning service from 11:10-noon.
We are committed to keeping your children safe. All children’s ministry volunteers are thoroughly screened. The nursery utilizes a secure computerized system to ensure the safety of your children, as well as a streamlined check-in/check-out process and easy communication with parents during the service, should the need arise.
Elementary students grades 1-8 are also invited to GEMS for girls and Cadets for boys, meeting on Westend Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm. GEMS and Cadets provide an environment that cultivates students’ desire to grow in their relationship with God and with each other.
GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior)
Starting in the fall, girls in first through eighth grade meet the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM to praise God through songs, Bible lessons, crafts, games and service projects. This program encourages girls to grow in their relationship to God and others.
Calvinist Cadet Corps boys group (Cadets)
Our Cadets boys group is made up of first through eighth grade boys. The goal of Cadets is to help boys grow more Christ-like in every area of their lives by helping them learn more about themselves, their God and their community. Cadets meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The boys and their counselors participate in Bible studies, crafts, projects, games and social events.
