Bulletin 6-14-20

June 14, 2020

TODAY

We begin gathering together for outdoor worship today!  Please bring your lawn chair if you can, and meet near the northwest part of the parking lot.

Pastor Kory starts the sermon series The Bible Doesn’t Say That.  His message is God Won’t Give You More Than You Can Handle, from 1 Corinthians 10:13.

If you are uncomfortable worshiping in person, or unable to be here, the service will be live-streamed on Youtube and Facebook, and available to watch later in the week if you desire.

NEXT SUNDAY

Pastor Kory will continue the series The Bible Doesn’t Say That.  Next week his message is Everything Happens for a Reason, from Romans 8:28.

PRAYER REQUESTS

We express our sympathy to Scott and Brenda Langeland in the death of Brenda’s father, Stan DeHaan, on June 5.  Also to Ralph and Teresa Wyngarden and children in the death of Teresa’s mother, Jean Halma, on June 6.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today we celebrate the faithful service of two of our staff members who are leaving us.

 •  Brad Bootsma, our intern, has served us during the last year and is moving on to the next phase of his ministry.

 •  Joel Janis, our worship director, has taken a full-time position at another church.  Unfortunately, Joel was unable to continue giving private music lessons due to the Covid shut down, making a full-time position financially desirable.

We hope to have a send off celebration for Brad and Joel some time in the next weeks.

As we plan for outdoor worship services, we need volunteer teams to help make it happen!  Please use this form to learn more about the ways you can help and to sign up for a service team:  https://forms.gle/LTZrvSuY9r5CDRmH9

YOUTH

JRock (including all incoming 6th graders) – we’re having an ice cream social this Tuesday, June 16, 7-8 PM.  Bring a lawn chair to the church parking lot and check out JRock!

Community Outreach Week will take place July 28-30.  We’ll work for 2 days and then have a day of fun!  Save the dates.

THANK YOU

We so appreciate the prayer support and other tokens of love and concern the Westend family gave us during Melita’s illness and passing.  Now join us in praising the God who took her to be with her Savior.  ~ the DeVries family

Thank you to everyone who helped serve the community through Feeding America, and to all who have supported this cause either through prayer or financially.  This ministry couldn’t continue without your help!
