Today Pastor Kory will begin the sermon series Lean In, listening for God’s voice and leaning in to the Holy Spirit’s work.  His first message will be Way Maker, Miracle Worker from Mark 6:30-44.

We will again host a Watch Party of the service on facebook at 9:45. The service will still be posted separately on facebook and on our website so you can watch it at your own time if you prefer.

NEXT SUNDAY

Next Sunday Pastor Kory will continue the sermon series Lean In, with the message Promise Keeper, Light in the Darkness from 2 Kings 4:8-37.

Church Retreat News.  We can’t gather as we had hoped, but here’s what we have planned:

  • Go to Westend’s facebook page, and click on the group “WE Retreat” to find all the information.
  • Have a campfire (or other fun thing) and take pictures of your family – post them to the WE Retreat group.
  • A Scavenger Hunt will be set up for family fun!
  • Guessing Games via pictures on facebook.
  • Drawings for Prizes!  Get an entry (up to 3 per family) for participating in any of these activities.

We hope to have a church picnic later this summer if conditions allow.  ArtSurPrize will be held when we can gather together safely.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

On May 2, Ben Meyer suddenly and tragically died in a farm accident.  We extend our sympathy to Judy, to their children, and grandchildren.  Details may be found at:

After her previous round of chemo, scans show that Mary Koets still has a sizable cancerous tumor.  She has resumed chemotherapy and will undergo another 2 – 3 months of treatment.

We celebrate with Nikki and Mike Koning who were blessed with a healthy baby boy on April 29.  They named him Jace Michael.

The Feeding America truck will be in our parking lot this Wednesday at 4 PM.  Again, this will be drive-thru only.  Feel free to share this with your neighbors.  If you have any sturdy boxes we may have, please drop them off at church before Wednesday.  Thanks.
