CHURCH FAMILY

Christie VanKuiken’s surgery went well and she is waiting to hear her pathology results.  She is now home recovering.

The results from Jamie Mata’s lumpectomy showed that there was no cancer.  Praise God!!

The elders are excited to hear the profession of faith from four young people this week.  Anika Verbeek, Isabel Thomasma, Kaylee Rodenhouse and Luke Weesies all met with the elders on Wednesday and will be professing their faith in front of the congregation at an upcoming Sunday service.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Beginning next Sunday, and continuing on the first Sunday of every month, the Christian education committee will be collecting your clean, returnable bottles and cans. Collection bins will be located in front of the double stall garage located by the church offices. Thank you for your continuing support!

Whats better than eating apple pie?  Eating apple pie that you didn’t have to make!  Youth group is selling apple pies to raise money for the summer mission trip.  Pies are $10 each or $5 for a personal sized pie.  They will be made and available for pick up November 20- just in time for the holidays!  Order forms are available in your church mailbox or by the Welcome Center.

We plan to update the Westend address/phone directory.  Have you moved since the last one was printed? Do you need to update your e-mail or phone number?  Please let Nichole in the office know your updated information for the new directory!

We are looking for help making apple pies on Saturday November 20th from 9am-1pm.  If you are able to help out, even for a little while, please sign up on the form by the apple pie display.

Attention Kids Hope Mentors: There is No School on November 2nd!

Burrito orders can be picked up this Wednesday afternoon from 3:30-6pm.

If you or a family you know could use help with gifts this Christmas season, we are offering WE Bless again this year.  Pick up a form at the Welcome Center, fill it out and bring it to the office or back to the Welcome Center.  If you have questions, contact Sue Mellema

Sunday Evening Adult Bible Study starts next week!  The Sunday evening Bible study will begin on Sunday, November 7 at 5:30 pm. The topic this year is Paul’s letter to the Romans. We will plan to meet every other Sunday evening beginning on November 7 and continuing on November 21 and December 5. Then we will take a break for the holidays and resume our study in the new year. Come out and enjoy a time of food, fellowship and digging into God’s Word as we grow together in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

HELP NEEDED!

Sunday morning coffee servers are still needed! If you could volunteer for 1 Sunday a month or every other month, that would be very helpful!   We need 3 people for each Sunday. Please call Kathy Myers or sign up at the Welcome Center if you are able!

The feeding America food truck will be here on Wednesday.  If you are willing to join us as we pass out food, please sign up by the visitor center.

This Wednesday will be our next community dinner.  We will be serving a Mexican meal in honor of Mission Emphasis.  Volunteers are needed to help serve and clean up so please sign up by the visitor center if you’re willing to help!
