Our Church Family

Joanne Kooi underwent additional testing this week. We rejoice that the doctors found no additional blockages in her heart. Praise God!

Christie Van Kuiken is scheduled to return to Liberia on December 14. Pray for safe travels for her as well as a productive end to her time here in the United States.

Congratulations to the Worst family on the birth of Elias Arthur, born on Thursday evening. Mom and baby are doing well.

PRAYER REQUESTS

We pray for those in our community who have been impacted by COVID – especially those who are sick, who have been hospitalized, and those who have lost loved ones. Pray for a swift end to the virus!

Please remember our shut-ins and senior members who are more deeply affected by the isolation of COVID restrictions.  Many are very lonely and feel especially isolated with holiday’s approaching.

 * Prayer Line * 453-2288 *

Our prayer line is always available to take your prayer requests, or to listen to prayer updates. After the recorded message, you may leave your prayer needs for our intercessors, who will pray for you. Identifying yourself is optional.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The MPT and Administrative Board is regularly and faithfully monitoring the COVID situation.  Any updates will be announced.

The congregation approved the proposed upgrade to the audio and video system, in a majority vote. Thanks be to God for His faithfulness!

Have you been blessed financially this year even with all of challenges that have occurred in 2020?  If you have been blessed financially, please consider giving to this years Christmas blessings fund. This fund is meant to help our church families who have not been so fortunate. You can mark your donation as “Christmas Blessings” and pay either online or send in a check to the church office.

Please consider sending a Christmas card to our shut-ins this year! If you would like to mail your cards directly to our shut-ins, you can request a list of shut-ins from the church office or you may drop off cards at the church office M-F, 9-3pm. Cards will be accepted until December 13th.

This Christmas season we would like to continue to connect to children and families who are in need of a little extra help this year, and we could use your help!  We still have gift tags left available to claim!

Below is a link to all of the virtual gift tags with gift requests. Please feel free to “grab a tag” by clicking sign up next to the requested gift. Once you have purchased the requested gift please drop it off to the church office during office hours by December 13th! Please make sure to include the corresponding number along with your gift since we do not have actual tags this year. Please contact Nichole in the office if you need help claiming a gift tag or have any questions!

Met and Exceed

It is with Joy and Praise to God that we can announce we are currently meeting our year-to-date General Fund financial goals. Thank you Westend family for your continuous support of the ministries at Westend CRC.

Have you been blessed in the past year? Would you consider a YEAR END gift to Westend for some specific, unmet needs within our church? Would you please consider your additional giving to assist in future needs within Westend Church? Some specific needs are listed below.

Video and Sound System upgrade(s)-  $20,150.00 (congregation approved). Current funding will take place through the Facilities improvement fund.  Can you assist in offsetting costs?

If you feel led to bless existing ministries at Westend, consider:

·       Westend General Fund

·       Christian Education

·       Gems, Cadets, KidsHope

·       Sponsor a Feeding America Food Truck

These items, though seemingly inconsequential, add to our outreach and ministries here at Westend CRC. For further and specific facilities needs, please direct your inquiry to Jeremy Marsman (Church administrator) and/or Barry Ruiter (Ad Board Elder, Facilities chair)

Please be informed that all gifts to Westend CRC are conditional and subject to the “best interests of the church” standard set forth in the Designated Gifts Policy. All gifts received shall be used and distributed in accordance with this policy.

Thank you for your consideration and continued support!
