Bulletin 8-16-20

August 16, 2020

TODAY

We gather together for outdoor worship today.  Our Youth Pastor, Brian Myers, will bring us the message I’m Not Done Yet, from Joshua 14.

We will continue to live-stream the service on YouTube and Facebook.

NEXT SUNDAY

Next Sunday Rev Beverly Weeks will be our guest pastor.  During the service Jace Michael Koning, son of Mike and Nikki, will be baptized.

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

We rejoice with Jerry Horstman who will turn 90 on August 25.  As in-person celebrations are restricted, his family has requested that you remember him with a shower of birthday cards.

We also rejoice that Christie VanKuiken has returned safely from Liberia.  She plans to be here until December while she completes student teaching.

THANK YOU

Many thanks to the COW group, led by Mike, who came and did an amazing amount of work.  They helped move storm-damaged trees and pull down an above ground pool that was also damaged.  Their help was hugely appreciated.  ~ Claire Titcombe

Thank you to our church family for the many prayers and cards honoring our Mom, Annette Broodman.  God blessed Mom with 96 years to live and sing His praises, and she is now with her best friend, Jesus.  As Mom often quoted, “Surely the lines for me have fallen in pleasant places.”  ~ Jane & Carl VandePol

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The CEM committee meets Tuesday, August 25 at 7 PM on the church office patio (inside if it’s raining).  Please bring a lawn chair.

How crazy was your Crazy Faith?  Before covid we were challenged to do something crazy in support of Christian Education.  The CEM committee would love to hear from you!  Please email June at junelatsma@gmail.com with a brief description.

Due to the delay in reopening schools, our backpack festival has been postponed.  We hope to hold it some time in October.  Donations are still appreciated, and the bin for them will be outside the Café on Sunday mornings.
