CHURCH FAMILY
Christy VanKuiken had a CT scan this past week & will meet with the cancer doctors on Thursday. Please pray for good results, a clear plan and great peace no matter what this journey brings.
Robin Swaney’s mother passed away of cancer on September 5th. Please keep their family in your prayers.
Please remember Audrey Gezon, Jeni Verbeek, Wilma Tumbling, Ed VanPortfliet and Pam Johnson in your prayers as they continue to recover at home.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Safe Church training will be held after church this week and next week in the Sanctuary. If you are a teacher, leader, mentor or council member who has not had training in the last 3 years, please plan to attend one of those dates!
This Wednesday is Westend Wednesday! Come for a fabulous homemade spaghetti dinner at 5:30, and stay for GEMS, Cadets and Ladies’ Bible Study.

In your mailbox today is an order for Trini’s famous wet burritos! This is a Christian Ed fundraiser that you don’t want to miss! If you’ve never been to Trini’s in Sparta, trust us, these burritos are fabulous. Orders with payment may be placed in the Mata mailbox no later than Oct 17th, pick up is Nov 3rd. REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS
This last summer we were able to participate in a Cadet campout with about 12 other area churches, including about 65 other Cadets. The Cadets were able to start learning camping skills such as fire building, compass training, survival skills, etc., as well as have fun doing an obstacle course, river swimming, archery and shooting a pellet gun! Most importantly, they were able to have times of fellowship and devotions with other Cadets while forming new relationships.
Looking to the future, we would like to be able to continue doing this but will need to purchase some new camping gear as well as eventually a new Cadet trailer. We have the opportunity to partner with Peters Gourmet Market to help raise funds.
There is a fundraiser and order form located near the Welcome Center. Money is due with orders. Checks can be made out to Westend CRC. Please contact Ryan Faber with any questions.
The Christian Rest Home Women’s Service Board presents The Voices of Victory Quartet and Covenant Christian Chamber Choir in concert on Sunday October 10th at 7:15 pm, here at Westend Church! Please consider a gift during the concert’s offering to help serve the home’s residents who for many years have served us. If you are not able to attend, please consider mailing a gift to help with their $6,000 fundraising goal this year!
