Bulletin 7-19-20

July 19, 2020

TODAY

We gather together for outdoor worship today.  Pastor Kory continues the series You Keep Using That Verse.  His sermon today is God’s Chosen Nation, from 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Due to the heat, we will continue to have some tents in the parking lot for shade.  Please come prepared with water, sunglasses, and anything else that keeps you comfortable.

If you are unable to worship in person, the service will be live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, and available to watch later in the week if you desire.

NEXT SUNDAY

Pastor Kory will continue the series You Keep Using That Verse.  Next week’s sermon is Crashing Planes and Driverless Cars, from 1 Thessalonians 4:17.  Next Sunday we will also celebrate communion.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Mary Koets is undergoing preliminary appointments to prepare for future weekly radiation treatments which should begin soon.

Phyllis Lehrke’s 85th birthday party open house has been canceled.  In its place, her family would love for people to help her celebrate by sending cards to her at:

Edison Christian Health Center, room 242

Or you could place cards in the Winegars’ church mailbox.

Please pray for our shut ins and older church members as they face feelings of loneliness and isolation during this time of extended quarantine.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

We hope to have our backpack festival on Wednesday evening, August 12, from 5-7.  If you are willing, please pick up school supplies, especially backpacks.  We will set up a drop off spot for donations soon.

YOUTH

JRock – Community Outreach Week will take place July 28-30.

THANK YOU

Thank you, Westend family.  I am enjoying the beautiful flowers and surprise gift bag.  Your thoughtfulness during this difficult time is a blessing.
