Bulletin 7-5-20

July 5, 2020

TODAY

We gather together for outdoor worship today, and some shade tents will be available due to the heat in the forecast.  Please bring your lawn chair if you can, as well as items to keep you comfortable – sunglasses, hat, water bottle.  Remember that rain will cancel our in-person outdoor service, making it online only.

Pastor Kory begins the sermon series You Keep Using That Verse.  His sermon is Judgment-Free Zone, from Matthew 7.

If you are unable to worship in person, the service will be live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, and available to watch later in the week if you desire.

NEXT SUNDAY

Pastor Kory will continue the sermon series You Keep Using That Verse.  Next week’s sermon is Superhero Strength, from Philippians 4:13.

PRAYER REQUESTS

We express our sympathy to the Brecker family.  Jerry’s brother, Don, passed away from pneumonia last weekend.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Church mailboxes are in the Café.  Please maintain social distancing when you check yours.

Save the date!  We hope to have our backpack festival on Wednesday evening, August 12, from 5-7. If you are willing to pick up school supplies, especially backpacks, please do so and we will soon set up a place for your donations.

Due to a technical glitch, last Sunday’s service was posted to Facebook but not to YouTube.  You may view it now:  youtube.com/watch?v=zYFKTeks3Xg

Cadet Counselors are needed!  Please contact Len Hudson.

YOUTH

JRock – Community Outreach Week will take place July 28-30.  Registration forms and waivers are due July 7.

LIFE – We’re going to Midland to help with their flood relief efforts July 12-18.  We plan to leave at 2 PM July 12 and return around 11 AM July 18.

THANK YOU

I so enjoyed receiving your gift of the plant, game book and gift card!  The plant is now thriving outside where many of us can see it.  It brings pleasant thoughts of my Westend family.

~ Audrey Gezon

Thank you for the calls from my Deacon Mary, and all the special people who sent the gift bag and plant.  God bless you all!  ~ Mame Katsma

They did it again!  The Winegars made the Crazy Faith commitment to clean and organize our kitchens.  After spending many hours early in the year getting the main kitchen sparkling, they have now finished with the Café kitchen!  Thank you!
